We're on a mission to enable food to move around the planet transparently, sustainably, and without waste. By 2030. To start out, our platform connects restaurants and suppliers, improving their ordering process. Save time. Save money. Save food.
Each year, 1.3 gigatons of edible food is wasted. That's equivalent to 3.3 gigatons of CO2. This is wrong.
We wanted to solve something meaningful to the planet. Global warming. Pollution. Population growth. Food waste. Malnutrition...
What did we find? The food supply chain is broken. It produces tons of waste, it's a major driver for climate change, it's intransparent, it puts farmers on the breadline, and it reduces biodiversity.
So, we looked for a weakspot. And what did we find this time? Order management is flawed. On both sides.
The solution? We built a software that will improve this process. A digitised supply chain.
Our belief is that we can build a company which combines economic success with environmental success.
Choco is the solution to a problem. Not just an idea for a business.
Our community is at the heart of what we do. We work to connect food industry leaders through events, discussions and partnerships. The best things happen in teams.
Reducing food waste on a global scale will be a big task. Working with local charities, associations and networks is essential for success. We're stronger in numbers.
Choco's namesake is the Chocó district of Colombia - one of the most biodiverse and rich ecosystems on our planet. It's places like Chocó that we are fighting to preserve.
