Choco heads to The World’s 50 Best of 2022

One of the most highly-anticipated gastronomic events of the year takes place on June 18th when The World’s 50 Best Restaurants of 2022 will be revealed. For the 20th anniversary of the event, Choco will be in London as an official sponsor.
What is The World’s 50 Best Restaurants?
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants is an annual award ceremony that started in 2002. The list of winning restaurants are determined by a panel of over 1,000 culinary experts through a structured voting process. The experts include chefs, restaurateurs, food writers and well-traveled gourmets.
The yearly list provides a diverse and international look at the finest and most innovative restaurants and chefs. It informs connoisseurs and gastro-tourists alike with the top destinations across the world for impressive cuisine.
How does a restaurant win?
Every restaurant in the world is eligible to win the title of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. According to the Voting Rules, “There are no criteria that a restaurant has to meet. They do not have to sell a certain product. They do not need to have been open a certain number of years and they do not need to have won any other culinary accolades.”
Each member of the voting academy provides their list of 10 restaurants these experts believe deserve a spot on the list, at least 4 of which must be outside of their home region. The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list is compiled by William Reed with the votes of the 1,080 experts.
Who will be there?
More than 500 guests will attend the invitation-only event. The guest list includes chefs, restaurateurs, VIPs from the industry, official partners and media. Chefs from all of the winning restaurants are often in full attendance.
As an official sponsor of the event, we’ll join global brands like S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, American Express and Estrella Damm.
